Have you heard the WipeHero Story? If not, then you’re in luck! Settle in as I tell you a tale…
Let me ask you something first, what do you think is the world’s most precious commodity? Not gold or diamonds, but H2O, commonly known as water. For something so valuable,we waste vast amounts of this precious resource daily.
True, car washing can waste water. We’re talking about thousands if not millions of litres. On average, it requires 100 – 200 litres of water to wash a sedan. So if there are 20 million cars registered in Australia being washed once a month and using 100 liters of water each time, we’re potentially wasting a billion liters of water each year in Australia alone. This kind of wastage can cost us $3 billion every year.
Wasting water is just the beginning. Water contamination is another common problem. Home car washing can be bad for our environment because it often results in dangerous detergents flowing into our drainage systems and subsequently our rivers and streams. Over 10 gigaliters of contaminated water flows through our drainage systems each year.
This is why Reza Keshavarzi and Farid Mirmohseni developed an environmental solution to wash our cars – Wipe Hero. We created WipeHero to solve these issues. It took four years of research and development to invent a waterless ‘wash and wax’ technology that not only washes a car, but protects it from damaging UV rays thanks to a protective polymer layer. A car owner need only to book a certified washer, who will arrive with WipeHero, a waterless wash and wax cream solution. This patented cream is composed of polymer surfactants that emulsify dirt, residues, and grime particles which then bubble up to remove the dirt from the surface whilst leaving a protective layer against UV rays.
“We’ve developed a waterless technology which allows us to wash cars anywhere, anytime. We started off with a product and we turned it into an online tech platform which allows making this product accessible.”
Think of it as Uber for carwashing. This service can eliminate cost and waste barriers with an eco-friendly approach which can be conducted almost anywhere!
WipeHero aims to protect the environment through saving water and protecting natural resources. Through utilising this ‘green’ service, people can benefit from economic and environmentally-friendly car washing, and even explore employment opportunities across the country.
With the help of a $100,000 grant from the New South Wales government, WipeHero has even begun to explore beyond our borders, becoming finialists at the recent “The World Pitch” in China.
